Visually Evoked Response or Evoked Potential - VER
How the test is performed:
-
The patient has three electrodes placed on their
head. Once prepared for the test, they sit in a
recliner and view a checker board pattern move side
to side with only one eye open while the other eye
is patched. Each eye takes approximately three
minutes to complete. After both eyes have completed
the test, the computer data is prepared and printed
for review.
-
The patient typically feels no pain, with only very
mild discomfort while the electrodes are positioned
and later removed.
